Attention! O2 Recalls Fire-Hazard X1 Handsets

In response to a fault, overheating and fire when charging, identified with the O2 X1 mobile phone, O2 is recalling this phone and offering customers a new replacement phone free of charge. Customers statutory rights are unaffected. On Monday 27th March 2006 O2 will immobilise all O2 X1 phones so they cannot be used within the UK anymore.
For safety reasons owners of the X1 are being recommended to stop using their phone immediately and return handset with charger to O2. In exchange the users will receive the O2 X2i Replacement Phone.
